Universal Studios Hollywood Is Back, With Big Dinosaurs; “We’re The One In California Now Open!”

Universal Studios Hollywood officially reopened Friday to California residents with new attractions including Jurassic World—The Ride and The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!. Annual and Season Pass Members attended a preview yesterday. The park announced its reopening plans March 30. Marvel’s Black Widow to hit Disney Plus for $30 on July 9, same day as theaters

Disney has delayed Marvel 's Black Widow release yet again, this time until July 9 -- but Black Widow will also be available to stream that same day on Disney Plus for $30 through the service's Premier Access model, on top of what you pay for a regular Disney Plus subscription, the company said Tuesday. Also Tuesday, Disney said: Its next Pixar film, Luca , will become a Disney Plus original film available to stream at no extra cost June 18, essentially skipping theaters. Cruella , its live-action reboot of 101 Dalmatians, would also be available as a Premier Access release on Disney Plus the same day as theaters on May 28. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings , Marvel's next big-screen movie after Black Widow , was also delayed. UPDATE, Friday AM: This list will be updated on a regular basis: As we first told you (scroll down) Hollywood’s 94-year-old TCL Chinese Theatre is reopening today, however for tours only. This will be followed by Imax showtimes of Tenet on Monday with a full official ribbon-cutting/reopening ceremony on Monday March 29 with all four directors of current and previous Godzilla and King Kong movies in honor of Legendary/Warner Bros’ Godzilla vs Kong ‘s opening on Wednesday. Predator Writers Are Suing Over Franchise Copyright, But Disney Are Putting Up A Fight

The writers of the classic 1987 sci-fi action movie Predator are suing Disney over its rights. Jim and John Thomas claim that Disney's hold on the series is about to lapse, but the studio is unwilling to relinquish the rights. US copyright law allows for authors to cancel the ownership of their work by previous rights holders and reclaim the copyright after a 35-year period. According The Hollywood Reporter , the Thomas brothers state that their original Predator script--titled Hunters--reverts back to them on April 17 this year. In addition, Thomas brothers state that they served Disney notice that they planned to take back the rights in 2016, but heard nothing from the studio until January this year. The brothers have sued, with copyright lawyer Marc Toberoff representing. Mickey Rooney, Star of the Screen, Stage and TV for Decades, Dead at 93

Mickey Rooney, the diminutive triple-threat entertainer who was a major film and TV star from the time he was a teen — and whose showbiz career spanned every decade of his long life going back to the 1920s — has died, according to multiple media reports. He was 93. Rooney packed more talent into his 5’2” frame than most of his contemporaries, even at a time when singing and dancing were a regular part of the acting life. He also played instruments, switched seamlessly between comedy and drama and was nominated for four Academy Awards, taking home two honorary Oscars –- a “Juvenile” award in 1939 and another for his body of work in 1983.
