Turkey Bans Crypto, Bitcoin Value Drops

Bitcoin fell 4.32% in early trading Friday after Turkey banned the use of "excessively volatile" cryptocurrencies in commerce. Turkey's central bank said Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are unregulated and could be used to fund illicit activities. "Their use in payments may cause non-recoverable losses for the parties to the transactions and include elements that may undermine the confidence in methods and instruments used currently in payments," Turkey's central bank said. A Missouri man named Jason Siesser has been charged with ordering a chemical weapon that could kill up to 300 people from the dark web using the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. Josef Sural: Czech footballer dies aged 28 after team bus crashes in Turkey

International footballer for the Czech Republic Josef Sural has died aged 28 after a minibus carrying him and his teammates overturned in Turkey. Sural was travelling home from football club Alanyaspor after an away game against Kayserispor in central Turkey with six of his teammates in a private "luxury" minibus when the accident happened. The crash reportedly occurred near the town of Alanya on the south coast of the country, which is a popular tourist destination. The president of Alanyaspor, Hasan Cavusoglu said that the Czech died in hospital whilst undergoing emergency surgery. The other six passengers are said to be in a stable condition and have small cuts and bruises, according to Mr Cavusoglu. DAN JAMES has backed Robert Page to lead Wales at Euro 2020 - if Ryan Giggs remains on special leave. The Manchester United winger got the Dragons' 2022 World Cup bid up and running with a late winner over the Czech Republic. Next up for Wales is the Euro finals this summer but Giggs ' managerial future is still uncertain as he is on bail until May 1 following his arrest last November on suspicion of assault, an allegation he denies. Page has lost just one of his six matches in charge and the caretaker has the backing of James if there is no decision on Giggs from the Crown Prosecution Service by the tournament. Ukraine Foreign Minister Asks Nations to Pressure NATO For Help as Russian Troops Build up at Border

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, amid rising tensions after a Russian troop buildup across its border, on Thursday morning asked the Baltic nations to pressure members from the European Union and NATO to help the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, according to the Associated Press . Kuleba's request for Western support came after he spoke with visiting officials from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. He said he believes "words of support aren't enough." "This visit is intended to show that we stand in solidarity with Ukraine (and) strongly support this country and its right to self-defense," said Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis, according to AP . Landsbergis also said that it was to provide a demonstration to Russia that "provocative actions can have consequences."
