Bilawal did not seek support for Senate chairman election: Moonis Elahi
PML-Q MNA Moonis Elahi on Monday clarified that PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the PPP delegation did not ask the PML-Q for support in the Senate chairperson election. A day earlier, Bilawal had called on the Chaudhrys of Gujarat with a PPP delegation, with many reports claiming that the PPP chairperson sought their support for the upcoming Senate chairman elections. Moonis took to Twitter to deny that anything of the sort happened, adding that Bilawal had inquired after Chaudhry Shujaat's health. ON Monday, March 1, 2021, the Senate adopted a resolution honoring and expressing its sorrow over the death of Princess Tarhata Alonto-Lucman, who passed away in Marawi City last February 24 at the age of 94. She was a remarkable woman, who defied convention and fought for gender equality when most Filipino women, let alone Muslim women, struggled to have their voices heard. Princess Tarhata was born to a political family in Ditsaan Ramain, Lanao (now Lanao del Sur) on June 26, 1926. She was a daughter of the first Maranao senator under the Philippine Commonwealth in 1935, she was a sister of congressmen, she was the wife of Rep. Sultan Rashid Lucman, she was the mother of vice governors, and she was an aunt to other political figures in the family. But Princess Tarhata was more than a relative of politicians. PM Imran Khan claims money was used to influence Senate elections’ results in KP as well
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday lashed out at the Opposition, claiming that money was used to influence not only the Islamabad seat's results in the Senate elections but also in seats for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections for the upper house. This was said by the prime minister during a meeting of the PTI where the premier was addressing party members, urging them to push the government's narrative on the Senate elections. The PTI chairperson said that his party's senators were already receiving offers to sell their votes for the upcoming Senate elections.
