JAPANESE tech whizzes have developed a tool that can dream up a photo-realistic person in seconds. The software, powered by artificial intelligence, builds brand new faces, hair, outfits, and all from scratch at the click of a button. Developed by tech firm DataGrid, the software could one day be used by clothes companies to whip up photogenic models without forking out for real ones. In a video showcasing the tool, the AI morphs and poses dozens of models as their outfits transform around them. Colourful dresses turn into bomber jackets before warping into t-shirts. Experts at DataGrid, which is based at Kyoto University, trained the AI using thousands of photos of real models. It works by pitching two clever AIs against one another, a system called a generative adversarial network (GAN). While one algorithm builds a new person, the other rates it on its realism and sends it back if it's not good enough. Through this rapid algorithmic back-and-forth, the pair … [Read more...] about Creepy AI creates photo-realistic models and outfits from scratch

KATIE Price was forced to appear on Good Morning Britain without any make-up - or her wig - after getting stuck in traffic. The former glamour model, 42, appeared on the ITV chat show earlier today to talk about her wedding plans with fiance Carl Woods. Although Katie loves to show off her glam side whenever she can, today she ran out of time when she finally arrived to the studios for her segment. She addressed her natural look to GMB hosts Susanna Reid and Adil Ray, and said: "Panic, again, like the last time I came on here, my mum was on here and I was literally late, the traffic. "It’s happened again today, I haven’t done my hair, no make-up. It is what it is." And Carl, 32, made sure his wife-to-be felt a million dollars live on telly. He added: "Good job she’s naturally beautiful, hey?” Katie looked amazing in a smart black shirt, which looked great with her natural bronzed glow and hair scraped off her face. Her arched eyebrows gave nice structure to her … [Read more...] about Katie Price appears on GMB with ‘no make-up’ and no wig after getting stuck in traffic
How politically realistic are the climate action goals that European governments are setting in lockstep with the United States? Some analysts are warning that the rich can afford the necessary changes, but the burdensome costs of a green transition for middle-class and poorer voters could trigger a backlash and prompt electoral reversals. Others worry European governments have still not fleshed out in practical terms how to meet their ambitious climate action and emissions reduction goals and that a failure to deliver solutions, as happened after the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference, risks undermining an emerging public consensus about the danger of climate change and a recognition action is required. “If you create a deadline that is unrealistic, which we will not be able to actually achieve, you put it completely beyond the bounds of possibility — that doesn’t mean you can’t have a high bar, you should be aiming for a high bar — but it can’t be unrealistic,” Jamie … [Read more...] about Are Europe’s Climate Action Goals Realistic?
V2 Escape From Hell plays like an old-fashioned, vibrantly propagandistic 1950s World War II thriller about how a daredevil Russian aviator thwarted Hitler’s last-gasp attempt to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat during the final desperate months of combat. Visually, thanks to ever-advancing CGI, this is a pretty convincing display of vintage aeronautic action that would have been very tough to recreate today using actual planes. War story and gamer aviation fanatics should eat this up. V2 are proudly promoting the fact that this is the first film being offered in both horizontal and vertical versions — that is, one way for the public keen to experience it the traditional way, on cinema or big TV screens, and the other for younger viewers or the merely attention-bereft who prefer watching bits of it like combat snacks on their mobile phones. Photo: Courtesy of HBO Tamer of dragons, warrior of statement belts, user of Sun In. We can already hear the sound of Redditors’ laptops overanalyzing the first-look photos of Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon , which were unveiled by HBO on Wednesday. The above photo of Matt Smith’s Prince Daemon Targaryen, standing next to Emma D’Arcy’s Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, is a particular sun-kissed delight: Bleached and on a beach, it’s almost as if the Targaryens got the Californians treatment. Smith’s character is the younger brother to King Viserys and heir to the throne, who’s described as a “peerless warrior and a dragonrider who possesses the true blood of the dragon.” In the photos below, we get a glimpse of fellow House -ers Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, and Steve Toussaint, who portray Alicent Hightower, Otto Hightower, and Lord Corlys Velaryon, respectively, who don’t seem to be as Goop-y as our resident blondes. House of the Dragon will premiere … [Read more...] about Matt Smith Is a Bleached Fabio in His First
