RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A huge boost was given to hungry families in Bergen County . A local charity won a $1 million grant to give out 100,000 meals. As CBS2’s Natalie Duddridge reported Thursday, it’s helping restaurants stay afloat, too. The need exploded when the pandemic struck. “We had to pivot and we started gifting meals to seniors in need, and also Ridgewood social services,” Antine said. More money and donations were needed to keep up. That’s when Antine discovered a state grant of $14 million that eventually went to two dozen organizations. (CNN) Tiger Woods' rollover car crash led to serious leg injuries and a flurry of medical terms most people aren't familiar with. The 45-year-old golf legend was rushed to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center on Tuesday after the wreck. The hospital's chief medical officer described his injuries and immediate treatment in a statement posted to Woods' Twitter account : Tiger Woods is recovering from major surgery after a high-speed car crash "Mr. Woods suffered significant orthopaedic injuries to his lower right extremity that were treated during emergency surgery," Dr. Anish Mahajan said. "Comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones were stabilized by inserting a rod into the tibia. Additional injuries to the bones of the foot and ankle were stabilized with a combination of screws and pins.
