The Tamil Nadu Petroleum Dealers’ Association (TNPDA) has sought permission from the Election Commission for its members to carry large amounts of cash in the run up to the election. Association president K.P. Murali said over 80% of the transactions in fuel outlets were made in cash and individual owners or staff usually took this cash, ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹25 lakh a day, to their respective banks to deposit it in their accounts. “This money has to be paid daily since we cannot store it in the outlet due to safety concerns. The amount has to be deposited so that advance payment is made to oil companies for fuel purchases. If the amount is not transferred, fuel supply may be affected,” he said. The Covid-19 recovery has cost the UK £407 billion, Rishi Sunak admitted today in his Budget speech. The Chancellor announced an additional £65 billion in spending on the recovery - extending furlough and other support for firms and workers through to September. He announced the creation of eight "free ports" - a scheme popular with Tory MPs to create "tax havens" within the UK. Duty on alcohol and fuel will both be frozen. And the minimum wage will increase by 19p an hour to £8.91 for over-23s. And he announced the creation of a Treasury branch office in Darlington - near to his own Richmond constituency. The biggest TV maker in the world, Samsung, has been firmly in the LCD camp for many years, while crosstown rival LG is the biggest name in OLED . LCD, despite advancements like QLED , mini-LED and dual panels , has always lagged behind OLED in overall picture quality. Now Samsung is working on a new kind of TV that aims to combine two display technologies into something greater than the sum of its parts. It's a hybrid between OLED and quantum dots called QD Display. According to Korea IT News , Samsung Display will end production of LCD panels by the end of 2021, moving to QD Display next year.
