REUTERS: Athletes competing in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England will be allowed to take a knee in support of worldwide anti-racism movements, competition organisers said. Several major sports organisations have moved to allow protests at their events following the death of George Floyd, a black man who died on May 25 after a white policeman knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed athletes are still banned from protesting at the Olympic Games but Commonwealth Games organisers said they would respect people's rights to voice their opinions. Like sunflowers, 12,000 mirrors, each covering 115 square meters, are arranged in concentric circles, concentrating tens of thousands of beams of sunlight onto the central heat absorption tower. This is China's largest molten salt solar thermal power station, located in Dunhuang City, northwest China's Gansu Province, an area with rich solar energy resources. At the top of the 260-meter-high tower, the heat absorber accumulates energy to heat up molten salt flowing inside. KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s opposition parties have denied that they are power crazy for their attempt to wrest back control in parliament, adding that Pakatan Harapan (PH) and its allies must work towards a common ground to reclaim electoral mandate. A recent study finds male undergraduate students were more likely than women to choose intimate relationships over their careers and education. While the results seem to contradict stereotypical notions of gender roles (women choose family and men choose high-powered jobs), perhaps it's a case of how "romance" is defined.
