(CBS4)- The Denver Broncos selected Ohio State pass rusher Jonathon Cooper with their second pick in the seventh round , No. 239 overall on Saturday afternoon. The moment was the culmination of a dream for Cooper but also one of celebration for his neighborhood. The Ohio State University football Instagram account showed the reaction to Cooper being drafted with a video of kids on Cooper’s block running up to congratulate him. In the video, Cooper can be seen walking out of the house and then greeting a group of kids who had come to give him high fives and hugs after they heard the news. The video, posted on Sunday, had already been viewed over 139,000 times as of Monday afternoon. The Broncos did not select a tackle in the draft. DENVER (CBS4) – The Denver Broncos finished with 10 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, the final three coming in the seventh round. With the 237th pick, the Broncos added more secondary depth, selecting cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. out of LSU. Vincent Jr. was a top 25 recruit coming out of high school and an excellent track athlete. He played an important role in LSU’s national title run in 2019, recording four interceptions and nine pass break ups. He also posted 47 tackles, including 2 for loss, while starting nine of 15 games. Vincent Jr. also starred in track and field at LSU, running the lead leg for the 4×100 meter relay team that won SEC titles. The Denver Boncos were able to use their No. 15 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to compliment receiver Courtland Sutton with Jerry Jeudy. Denver snatched up the Alabama wideout to add another player that can run long routes and stretch the field in the absence of Emmanuel Sanders, who was traded to New Orleans. After their first pick, the Broncos continued to hit positions of need — receiver, defensive line, offensive line, and cornerback. The team picked up two other wide receivers, KJ Hamler and Tyrie Cleveland. Hamler is a small, speedy weapon out of Penn State while Cleveland has above-average length with a high vertical — and both have potential to be a downfield mismatch. Draft additions to the Broncos’ defense include cornerback Michael Ojemudia, tackle McTelvin Algim, linebacker Justin Strnad and edge rusher Derrek Tuszka.
