(CBS4)- The Denver Broncos selected Ohio State pass rusher Jonathon Cooper with their second pick in the seventh round , No. 239 overall on Saturday afternoon. The moment was the culmination of a dream for Cooper but also one of celebration for his neighborhood. The Ohio State University football Instagram account showed the reaction to Cooper being drafted with a video of kids on Cooper’s block running up to congratulate him. In the video, Cooper can be seen walking out of the house and then greeting a group of kids who had come to give him high fives and hugs after they heard the news. The video, posted on Sunday, had already been viewed over 139,000 times as of Monday afternoon. The Broncos did not select a tackle in the draft. DENVER (CBS4) – The Denver Broncos finished with 10 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, the final three coming in the seventh round. With the 237th pick, the Broncos added more secondary depth, selecting cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. out of LSU. Vincent Jr. was a top 25 recruit coming out of high school and an excellent track athlete. He played an important role in LSU’s national title run in 2019, recording four interceptions and nine pass break ups. He also posted 47 tackles, including 2 for loss, while starting nine of 15 games. Vincent Jr. also starred in track and field at LSU, running the lead leg for the 4×100 meter relay team that won SEC titles. Getty Images The Packers reportedly think some of the teams interested in trading for Aaron Rodgers have violated league rules by letting Rodgers know they’re interested. According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers are upset that other teams, including the 49ers and Broncos, may have contacted Rodgers to see if he is interested in playing for them. However, the report says the Packers have not filed a tampering complaint with the NFL because tampering is incredibly hard to prove. Under NFL rules, a player under contract to a team cannot be contacted by representatives of any other team, unless the player’s current team gives other teams permission. So if the Packers decide to trade Rodgers, they could give other teams permission to talk with him about a trade. But right now, the Packers say they will not trade Rodgers and have not given any team permission to contact him. Those rules are sometimes enforced.
