Photograph: BCCI/IPL Star New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson, who missed Sunrisers Hyderabad's first two IPL matches due to an elbow injury, is recovering well and is expected to attain full match-fitness "within a week". The 30-year-old Williamson, a vital cog in SRH's middle order, suffered a small tear in his left elbow tendon and was ruled out of the home ODI series against Bangladesh in March ahead of the IPL. However, the New Zealand captain on Friday said his "recovery is going really well". "...you know I have been focussed to get pain free as quickly as possible and we are certainly tracking really nicely and hoping to be fit and ready within the week," Williamson said in a video posted by SRH on their Twitter page. Why India is seeking changes in Interpol’s system
The list of criminals on India's list of most wanted offenders has 656 names on it. Indian authorities are trying their best to get all of them extradited with the help of the Interpol, but it is proving to be an arduous task. India has now decided to push for a change in the International Noticing System, as most of the offenders on its list are involved in terror activities. Some of the most wanted terrorists on India's list -- like Dawood Ibhrahim and Tiger Memon -- are currently living in Pakistan. India's pleas for their extradition have fallen on … [Read more...] about Why India is seeking changes in Interpol’s system
Global coronavirus death toll jumps past three million as India cases surge
The global coronavirus death toll on Saturday jumped past three million as the disease continues to spread despite vaccination campaigns, leading countries like India to impose fresh restrictions to fight spiralling infection numbers. It is the latest grim milestone after the novel coronavirus surfaced in central China in December 2019 and went on to infect more than 139 million people, leaving billions more under crippling lockdowns and ravaging the global economy. For comparison, three million people is more than the population of Jamaica or Armenia, and three times the death toll of the Iran-Iraq war which raged from 1980-1988. And the pandemic is showing no sign of slowing down: the 829,596 new infections reported worldwide on Friday is the highest number yet, according to AFP's … [Read more...] about Global coronavirus death toll jumps past three million as India cases surge
