Former West Indies captain Jason Holder, who came in for universal acclaim when he led the first international cricket tour amid the coronavirus pandemic, has been named as one of Wisden's five Cricketers of the Year. Holder joins England batsmen Dom Sibley and Zak Crawley, Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan and Kent all-rounder Darren Stevens in being given a stamp of approval in the esteemed almanack's slightly condensed 158th edition. Stevens, who turns 45 later this month, is the oldest recipient since Ewart Astill in 1933 for an honour bestowed just once in a career, usually reserved for those who have shone during the preceding English domestic season. Jadeja inexplicably misses out promotion in BCCI contract
BCCI CENTRAL CONTRACT by Vijay Tagore • Published on Share Tweet Ravindra Jadeja has been retained in the 'A' category of BCCI's central contract list © Getty Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder, was considered for a promotion in the central contract list announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday (April 15), but inexplicably missed it. Jadeja, who has been a part of the Indian team for more than a decade, has been representing the team in all three formats. Cricbuzz understands Jadeja was initially considered for the A+, a position that guarantees INR 7 crore, but left out. Insiders concede that Jadeja's name was debated for the Elite status but the BCCI stuck only to three players - Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.
