Bas Dost to leave Frankfurt for Club Brugge Reports: Christian Gross to take over at Schalke Tokyo plans low-key opening ceremony December 25 Bas Dost Brugge bound Dutch striker Bas Dost is moving to Belgian outfit Club Brugge from Eintracht Frankfurt in the January transfer window, both clubs confirmed late on Thursday. Brugge said that the 31-year-old Dost is to sign a contract until the end of the 2021-22 season , conditional upon hi m passing the mandatory medical. Dost had been i n Frankfurt since arriving in Germany’s banking capital from Sporting Lisbon in 2019 and h is contract wasn’t set to expire until 2022. Eintracht’s board member responsible for sport, Fredi Bobic, indicated that financial reasons were behind the decision to let Dost go, speaking of a “lucrative overall packag e, ” without giving details. Bobic also noted the financial challenges the COVID-19 pandemic was posing for the club. “We wish Bas all the best in Belgium,” he said.
