Denise Welch couldn’t hold back tears on Friday’s Loose Women Mother’s Day Special, after she was gifted a surprise bouquet of flowers by her son Matt Healy.
The actress, 60, struggled to contain her emotions after Andrea McLean revealed the gift was from Matt, who was known by many as a singer for the band The 1975.
The special also saw Stacey Solomon beam with pride after receiving a video message from her two sons, with her mother Fiona also gushing about the excitement that would come from welcoming her third child.

Loose Women celebrated Mother’s Day early with a special featuring many of their loved ones, including Denise’s father Vin and Stacey’s mum Fiona.
As the show came to a close, Andrea told Denise that she had a special surprise for her, with a member of the crew bringing out a bouquet of flowers.
It was then revealed that the flowers were from Matt, leading Denise to break down in tears, as she admitted all the celebration was making her ‘miss her own mum.’

Denise has spoken openly in the past about Matt’s, 29, battles with drug addiction, and gave fans a rare insight into their relationship on Loose Women back in October.
She said: ‘Last year he realised he was in trouble and I wasn’t seeing a great deal of him because he was on a world tour.
‘Although success for The 1975 has been wonderful, it’s been hard for me because I felt I’ve lost my son.
‘I went to Los Angeles to visit him and he told me last year he was going to take himself to rehab and he needed help with addiction. It was hard but I was thrilled and touched he told me, I was extremely proud he told me.’

Hilarious: Vin went onto tell some hilarious tales about his daughter, including the moment she got lost while on holiday in France
Funny: He also recalled the moment he ambushed her at college in his full drag costume
Great stories: Denise was left in utter hysterics as Vin pulled out some tales, with the pair even colour co-coordinating in matching fuchsia pink outfits
At the time Denise also admitted to feeling responsible because her issues resulted in Matt having a different upbringing to the one youngest son Louis, 17, has enjoyed with Denise and her second husband, millionaire artist Lincoln Townley.
‘I’ve had issues with drugs in the past,’ she explained. ‘My 17 year old has grown up in a sober household, but I do have shame about some of the things Matt has had to see.’
It proved an emotional occasion for Denise after she also received a sweet video message from second son Louis – who usually stays out of the spotlight.
Praising his gesture, she said: ‘I never in a million years thought that Louis would put himself on the telly like that so thank you.’

He paid a similarly gushing tribute to Denise, who gushed how shocked she was to see the video.
Despite the emotional ending, earlier in the show Denise was in hysterics as she appeared on the show with father Vin, known to many by his drag queen alter-ego Raquel.
Recalling a moment he decided to ambush his daughter in full costume, he explained: ‘Having been a drag queen I used to get dressed up, I remember when Denise was away at college, I couldn’t find my key.
‘I knocked on the door and Denise opened it to find Molly and Cleopatra over my shoulder.’
Denise then explained: ‘I did know but this particular night I had brought a new boyfriend home.’
Happy: Stacey Solomon was also a panellist on the show, and received a sweet video message from her two sons
Proud mum: The presenter – who is expecting her third child with boyfriend Joe Swash – also brought her mum Fiona onto the show
Touching: Fiona paid a touching tribute to her daughter, as she gushed about the excitement of welcoming another grandchild
‘Incredible’: She said: ‘I think with Stacey there’s something in a person when you’re born and I think what I find quite incredible’
Proud mum: She then added: ‘I think that’s her. I’m quite excited just to see what the baby looked like, I’m quite intrigued what baby Stacey and Joe have made together’

Each of the Loose Women also received similar videos from her loved ones, including Stacey, who beamed with pride as she saw sons Zachary, eleven and Leighton, six.
The presenter – who is expecting her third child with boyfriend Joe Swash – also couldn’t hide her emotion as her mum Fiona gushed about the prospect of welcoming another grandchild.
She said: ‘I think with Stacey there’s something in a person when you’re born and I think what I find quite incredible, I just think it’s her ability to have empathy and understanding and caring for a whole range of people and the connection she has with people.
‘I think that’s her. I’m quite excited just to see what the baby looked like, I’m quite intrigued what baby Stacey and Joe have made together. There’s going to be another baby, I’ve got five already!’
Like mother like daughter: Andrea presented the show alongside her mum Betty, who recalled an ongoing story about the time they moved to Africa
No I didn’t! Betty explained that she ‘didn’t abandon’ Andrea as she had claimed, insisting that she was actually 24 when she moved countries
Oops! She explained: There was no mobile phones, and she was 24 years old she wasn’t ten’
Lookalike: The pair seemed to be the spitting image of each other, as Betty sported a brightly coloured green top for the TV appearance
Chic: Andrea cut a stylish display for the daytime TV appearance, as she sported a pastel lilac suit with a crisp white shirt
Andrea presented the show alongside her mum Betty, who set the record straight on a recent story that she had repeatedly told on the show, where she claimed that her mum and dad moved out of the country without her knowledge.
Betty explained: ‘There was no mobile phones, and she was 24 years old she wasn’t ten.
‘We had to move house quickly because someone needed our house so there was no way of contacting and we told the man who had moved into our house I said we’ll be round the corner. I didn’t abandon her.’

Singer Brenda Edwards brought along her daughter Tanesha, who dropped the dramatic bombshell that she had lied to her mum about attending a party when she was just 14.
Admitting her mum was a strict parent, Tanesha did add that her mum because more relaxed the moment she turned 18.
During a chat about social media, Brenda also told a hilarious tale about her son Jaden, revealing he filmed her while she was cleaning the bathroom, and then secretly used the footage for an internet advert.
