YANKEES 5, ORIOLES 4 Not that we didn’t know it already, but Joe Girardi finally anointed Andrew Miller as the Yankee closer Friday night after Miller again combined with Dellin Betances to seal another win, this time 5-4 over the Orioles. But it was afterward that Miller perhaps delivered his finest pitch of the night. Asked if what Girardi had done meant something, Miller said he thinks only of victories, not glamor roles. “For what they’re paying me, I’ll do anything,” said Miller, who threw a 1-2-3 ninth for his 13th save. “That’s the honest truth. I came here to win. I didn’t come here for saves or a certain role. “I’m here to win.” With Miller and Betances locking down late-game situations and another pair, Brett Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury, thriving at the top of the lineup, the Yanks have been doing plenty of that lately. That, uh, duo of dynamic duos, has helped the Yankees go 16-5 in their last 21 games, their best stretch since finishing the 2012 season on a 16-5 run.
