Most of us are aware of what is in tap water. Well, at least I thought I was until I carried out a search on the purity of tap water. I was horrified at what I found. What I mean to say, we know that our tap water does not taste that good because it contains chlorine, but what else does it contain? Here, we are going to find out.I searched through newspapers up to six months old in my area of the developed world that I live in. I became aware that whatever pollutants enter our environment they will eventually end up in our water supply. Pollutants are entering via air pollution, chemical spillage, underground seepage, illegal dumping and abandoned mine shafts.There were frequent write ups in the newspapers on river pollution from chemical spills and illegal dumping. This pollution is what is in tap water and I noted that all rivers had similar problems. There were also frequent warnings of E.coli from sewerage found in drinking water. Residents were advised to boil their drinking water.
